Ty-Tegwch

Shakey used to live at Ty-Tegwch stables in Treflach (near Oswestry) and he and ellie still make regular trips there as a base for hacking out.

If your looking for really good stabling in the area this probably the best yard to keep your horse.

First Fun Ride

Ellie and Shakey did their first fun ride yesterday at Llansillin. :)

I managed to drop them off, go home watch the grand prix get back before they did, which was nice. And no need for the AA this time!

Gobowen Antics

Oswestry Riding Club (ORC) organised the fun day.

Ellie's first event with ORC, got there early appeared to be some confusion about start times.

Events went well, jack was well behaved and shakey did most things although as jack noted "He always comes third" (In the heats).

Again shakey has taken it upon himself to not want to get back in the trailer, after about 20 minutes of pulling, pushing and polo's he eventually got in. Only for us to discover that the battery had been run down by the stereo and cool box plugged in the back!

Help was at hand with jump leads but all to no avail, something else must be wrong... time for the AA, not being members this cost big!

Everyone left, and some of the members kindly offered to tow shakey home (for which we are truly grateful). Whist waiting on my own for the AA it came to me that I had forgotten to deactivate the immobiliser on the car prior to trying it off of the jump leads! Plonker.

AA man arrives (about 45 minutes after call out, not bad), hook it up wait a few minutes, PRESS THE IMMOBILISER, and start's first time. Important and costly lesson learnt that day.

To top it all off got home hoping for a nice cup of tea and to watch the French GP only to have Sky+ tell me that an unknown error had prevented it recording.

All in all not the most enjoyable Sunday I have had.

Flash is lame

Last week Flash, the 30+ year horse we adopted with the house, injured his knee.

He is no on box rest for 3 weeks on the instruction of the vets.
